Responsible to provide excellence in teaching through the fulfillment of the mission and strategic goals of the Department of Mathematics & Engineering.
Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teaching responsibilities will include a combination of core engineering classes along with upper-level civil engineering classes in the candidate’s area of expertise, and supervision of senior design projects
Willingness to develop and pursue scholarly work in an area of research that incorporates undergraduate students would be especially welcomed and valued
As a member of a new and growing engineering program, the candidate will have a unique opportunity to develop and shape an innovative program focused on creative design thinking
Abide by all University policies

Minimum Education and Experience:
M.S. or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or related field prior to appointment; previous teaching experience at the university level is preferred. Candidates who are ABD will be considered but must provide clear evidence of completion by December 1, 2018. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.

Knowledge and understanding of basic computer skills
Ability to type 30 wpm and to efficiently and accurately use the computer to carry out job responsibilities
Understanding of and agreement with Northwestern’s Declaration of Christian Community and Doctrinal Statement is essential
Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
