Taylor University is seeking applications and nominations of distinctive candidates for a new tenure track Public Health faculty position beginning in August 2018. Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will conduct innovative teaching, applied student-centered and service-oriented research, and community engagement with potential for collaboration across disciplines while complementing existing expertise. Teaching responsibilities will include Epidemiology, supervision of domestic and international practicums, and other courses necessary for the Public Health major including, dependent on background, Geospatial Analysis, Environmental Health, and Biostatistics.
The Department of Environmental Science, Public Health, and Sustainable Development has a thirty-year history of preparing students with scientific training that promotes environmental stewardship as an integral part of personal wholeness, service to society and world outreach, and Christian worship. Public Health and Sustainable Development majors have recently been added. The Department has five full-time faculty positions and works closely with faculty in a variety of other disciplines. Opportunities exist to collaborate with faculty in sustainable agriculture and water, sanitation, and hygiene within the department and with faculty in health education and wellness in the Kinesiology Department. The Department is housed in the award-winning 22,000 sq. ft. Randall Environmental Center.

We seek a faculty member with interdisciplinary expertise and leadership experience in Public Health to advance our strong and growing undergraduate Public Health major. Expertise in Epidemiology is required. Highly desired are experience in Geospatial Analysis to broaden skills of existing faculty and public health experience in an international setting. Experience in Environmental Health is desired.
