The Department of Chemistry at Huntington University invites applicants for a tenure-track position in organic chemistry beginning Fall 2018. The anticipated course load includes a two- semester sequence of organic chemistry; one semester of biochemistry; a one-semester chemistry support course for nursing majors; either liberal arts chemistry or general chemistry as course load allows; and/or other electives depending on expertise and interest.
The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher committed to maintaining ongoing undergraduate research with students. As part of a two-person department, the candidate will have the opportunity to shape the direction of the programs and department; a collegial individual with vision and passion for the future is highly desired. The Department offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in chemistry, including tracks in biochemistry, pre- medicine, and pre-pharmacy; and a B.S. degree in chemistry education. The department has an excellent record of pre-medical and graduate school preparation and also provides support for majors in biology, exercise science, agribusiness, and nursing. The department is housed in a modern, well-equipped Science Hall; student laboratory space and modest funds are available for research.
