The School of Education seeks a faculty member who will teach courses leading to elementary licensure as well as foundations courses. The successful candidate will have doctoral degree (master’s considered) and teaching licensure. Candidates need teaching experience in elementary school settings.

The Elementary Faculty member teaches courses that relate to elementary licensure including foundations, math methods, and other related courses, as well as advising students and collaborating with colleagues.

Teach courses that focus on elementary grades, including mathematics.
Provide supervision for students in clinical experiences.
Serve as primary advisor for assigned students.
Coordinate with professors of related courses.
Collaborate with SOE faculty and staff.
Stay up-to-date with requirements of the Illinois State Board of Education and necessary program adaptations.
Actively engage in required program re-design.
D. or Ph.D. in curriculum, instruction, or related field; master’s degree considered.
Experience as a classroom teacher.
Skills in collaboration, organization, and communication.
An ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with students, administrators, faculty, staff members, and outside constituencies.
An orientation to detail and precision.
Computer skills including Microsoft Office programs.
Possess a clear understanding and personal commitment to North Park University’s mission of Christian higher education.
