Manage day-to-day administrative detail for the Vice President as assigned and provides executive assistance including office management, scheduling and meeting coordination, mail processing, file management, processing of purchasing card statements and other payments, and budget monitoring and analysis.
Provide welcome and hospitality to visitors to the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; and provide visitors and callers with appropriate information, responding to their needs.
Maintain appropriate communication and coordination with the president and vice-presidential offices on inter-area matters of mutual interest.
Assist the Vice President with communications and preparations for reports to various groups.
Handle and manage correspondence for the Vice President.
Draft responses for the Vice President when appropriate.
Assist with developing, planning and coordinating special projects and events.
Maintain office supplies and operations of electronic equipment.
May train and supervise work-study students and/or other hourly assistants.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Experience in a higher education environment.
An understanding of protocols and processes at the top of a higher end environment.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Exceptional communication and writing skills.
Ability to see the big picture.
Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in the University while representing the Vice President.
Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with people from diverse backgrounds (such as racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic, and with diverse physical and learning abilities).
Ability to exercise a high degree of judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Ability to use OneNote and web-based platforms, including SharePoint.
