As a member of the Advancement Services Team, the Associate Director for Data Management and Donor Research has continuing responsibility for formulating and implementing data management activities for a data system that is shared by Advancement staff and other institution staff who have responsibility for donor, prospect and constituent relations. The position will also support advancement of the university by gathering, assimilating, organizing, and analyzing sensitive and non-sensitive data on individuals, foundations, and corporations, prepare confidential profiles of identified prospective donors; identify new prospects; and assist in tracking, ranking, evaluating prospects. Specific responsibilities include, provide oversight and strategic planning for information systems and advancement technology in support of philanthropic development, engagement, records management data integrity, analysis and reporting, monitor the contents of the database and its use by institutional personnel, collaborate with Advancement leadership on decision making and establishing policies and procedures that impact data; manage a training program to provide users of the database; produce accurate and timely data as requested; access and gather sensitive and non-sensitive data; evaluate, organize, and edit verified data into confidential and comprehensive reports and cover letters; serve on the PeopleSoft Core Team representing needs and interest of Advancement area.
Successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree, Database Information Services Management preferred. Successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of principles, technical methods and practices of automated data processing and other information management systems in general and with specific application to fund raising. Experience with PeopleSoft desirable. Oral and written communication skills to present policies, procedures, training, reports and other information; initiative and judgement in defining the projects and work to be accomplished, setting deadlines, resolving conflicts by determining approaches to take and methodology to be used to complete assignment; ability to manage critical and sensitive information; work effectively (formally and informally) in a team oriented environment.
