Bethel University is seeking an individual to be responsible for all mass fundraising efforts and strategic management and execution of a comprehensive annual giving program, securing increasing levels of annual support and participation from alumni, parents, and friends while clearly telling the Bethel Story.
Research, design, implement and direct a compelling, robust, year-round acquisition and cultivation strategy that incorporates best practices to increase giving and participation in all areas of campaign giving and especially the Bethel Fund from alumni, parents, and friends.
Work collaboratively with the alumni engagement team, Assoc. VP Development, Seminary and Church Relations, and UA Services team to develop a written master plan and calendar for all phases of annual giving, including direct mail, online giving, telemarketing.
Implement mass fundraising efforts with personally tracked and Annual Fund tracked donors to build relationships that result in recurring gifts and opportunities to elevate donors to the $1000 President’s Circle level.
Partner with Manager of the President’s Circle and the Donor Retention Specialist to organize student’s and facilitate processes that lead to 75% retention of donors.
Conduct regular, thorough assessment of mass fundraising performance through detailed analysis to assess and enhance program effectiveness, giving patterns, and potential donor segmenting. Provide regular program updates to executive leadership.
Experience with data base segmentation and a keen understanding and ability to market the BF to different audiences.
Knowledgeable (able to learn) with online fundraising including marketing through social media.
Ability to recognize among annual fund donors the potential for significant major and planned gifts.
Experienced in identifying, recruiting, training and supervising staff and potential volunteers.
Possess exceptional oral and written communications skills, as well as computer skills.
Have very strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly and regularly adjust strategy based on giving trends.
Must be an independent and strategic thinker capable of understanding the full scope of projects while seeing individual tasks through to completion.
Must be project oriented, able to handle several tasks simultaneously, possessing an ability to prioritize multiple tasks under pressure while managing deadlines will.
Must be able to quickly adapt to a changing environment and embrace change as a new challenge to perform with excellence, taking on a sense of ownership in all tasks performed.
Experience in and commitment to a team approach within the department, division and throughout the University.
Must have excellent computer skills related to the use of MS Word, Excel, and Google Docs. Direct experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in progressively successful experience in annual giving, mass fundraising or related field
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, communications or related fields
Must have flexible schedule and be able to work some evening or weekends for work related functions
