A Ph.D. in Communication or Communication-related area preferred. Candidates holding the M.A. may also be considered. Candidates should have a strong record of teaching effectiveness and commitment to the liberal arts. The best candidates will also exhibit personal communication skills, collegiality, leadership potential, service, team-building skills and experience teaching and working with millennial students.
The position requires a strong commitment to the liberal arts, specializing in theory, rhetoric, composition and related areas. Teaching responsibilities would include courses such as: Intercultural Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Advanced Interpersonal Communication, Gender Communication, Restorative Communication and Family Communication. Opportunities to develop other courses relating to the department's goals will be available in the future.
